A small museum that is staffed by knowledgeable and friendly docents. One room with items from the base and history of people that were once stationed there. We also saw a section of the Berlin wall.
Bob,
Thank you to you, Gail, Carl and the others for a real education and revival of memories of a great base and great Air Force Military operation and the many, personnel and members who made it great.
I will return to deeply indulge in the finites of everything there.
You pointed out Jimmie Stewart’s signature on the B-47 photo. I recognized that as a signature credited to the movie he starred in.
As I noted so many actors were actually veterans of a proud generation that made our country proud in the battles in all theatres and venues.
To Jimmie’s credit, I am sending this and to you and your US Air Force families, THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!
Sincerely and thankfully

Being in the area, we jumped at the chance to visit the museum. Our guide was a veteran who himself had been stationed at Norton AFB, Bill Mitchell. He was so knowledgeable and spoke with such pride. He greeted us outside the museum and gave a detailed explanation of the outdoor area memorials and then walked us through the displays indoors. Do visit, especially if you have some connection. Memories of those talks with my dad sprang to life. If lucky, you may meet some other veterans who stop by during the tour. It was uplifting to meet them and to visit where my dad had spent those years.

There was lots to see and some stuff to touch. I had a veteran take me on a tour with just my family. There was some fun activities for kids to do.
